RFI Member Villified At Senate Inquiry

This article on the 21st February 2026 by Vikki Campion speaks for itself.

“Modern day witch hunts in the name of ‘science’.”

Whatever side of this debate you sit on, we should all be able to agree on one thing — ordinary people should not be publicly ridiculed, dismissed or dehumanised for asking questions.

Responsible Future Illawarra attended the inquiry in good faith.

Thank you to Jim Pinkerton, Amanda De Lore, and Susie Crick for the extraordinary preparation and courage it takes to step into a parliamentary process like that. Thousands of volunteer hours. Countless community conversations. All driven by genuine care for our region.

And Cliff Hall-3 — we all appreciate the time and effort you have put into this issue and it was not right the way they attacked. Surfers for Climate owe you an apology.

No matter your view in this debate, you are a human being first. Disagreement should never become a character attack.

We can debate policy.

We can challenge ideas.

But we do not tear people down.

That’s who we are.
